Chaz has been working abbreviated hours lately and his schedule has afforded us the time together for packing up our belongings, as well as some quality family time. As we're preparing for the move, we've been reflecting back on our (almost) four years here in North Carolina. The things we've really enjoyed doing, we're trying to squeeze in one more time. The places we haven't been to or family and friends we haven't seen, we're trying to visit. Picking strawberries at Lewis Farms is one of the things we've really enjoyed doing in Wilmington. We made time yesterday for a little strawberry picking! I was going to blog last night asking for some advice on getting strawberry juice out of Ava's clothing, but my stain removal skills must be getting better because I got them out all on my own! I hope you'll enjoy our pictures!
Where is Ava?
There she is!!
Much better without the hat!!
Her expression in this picture just screams TROUBLE!!
When Ava wasn't eating the sandy dirt, she was enjoying a delicious and juicy strawberry!
Daddy got 'Ava duty' since he was wearing navy blue and I was wearing a white shirt! Again, not sure what I was thinking when we got dressed that morning!
Sampling the strawberries.
The messier and juicier, the better!
Andrew was very serious about picking strawberries!
He's such a big boy! He held the bucket and was very careful to not stick his thumb into the berry as he was picking it...well, most of the time!
Andrew was serious about picking the strawberries and Ava was serious about eating them!
Getting a picture of the two kids together these days seems almost impossible! This was the best we could do! As soon as Chaz put her down and let her go, she was up and running! Ava's still eating!!
That was fun!
Before we left we bought some pea pods fresh out of their gardens. We went over to my grandparents regularly when I was little and Ashlie and I would pick peas (along with lots of other veggies) out of his garden. I remember those warm summer nights playing in the garden, popping open and eating the peas right out of their pods! It was such a simple thing, yet it was so much fun and I have great memories from those days. Sharing pea pods with Andrew took me back to my own childhood and I love that.
