Six Months Old - Updated!

Ava turned six months old on Sunday! She is such a good girl and a happy baby! She's been tasting a lot of new foods and especially loves sweet peas and sweet potatoes. We have the 'baby safe feeder' and so she's eaten fresh banana, apple, pear, grapes and peas and has loved them all! Her reflux is definitely better and she spits up only a little bit from time to time. She has her own version of crawling that definitely gets her from point A to point B. Andrew's toys are usually the target that she aims for and unless he's watching and intervenes, she gets them! She loves taking a bath and I look forward to taking her to her first gym and swim class next week. I'm posting a few pictures and video that I took this week for Chaz. I'll have a new report after Ava's 6 month doctor's visit next week.

Ava had her six month check-up and she is the picture of good health! She weighs 16 pounds (50th percentile for weight), and she's 27 inches long (85th percentile for height!). The doctor walked in and she was impressed with how well Ava was sitting up. Ava wowed her a little more by showing her how she crawls! She's definitely ahead in the motor skills area and the doctor and I are both betting she'll be an early walker! She's also getting her front two teeth on the bottom!

First taste of a fresh pear in the 'baby safe feeder' Drinking out of the sippy cup... like a pro! She crawled off the blanket and over to Andrew's box of cars. With both hands, she pulled the box over onto it's side! Happy baby in her bathtub!

Here's a sample of Ava crawling... you have to see it to believe it! It has to be 10 seconds or less in order for Chaz to be able to receive it on email. Turns out it was 1-2 seconds too long and he couldn't view it, so I thought I'd share it here!

One of the best things about having two children is watching them interact together - already! Andrew makes Ava belly laugh and it is so cute. He and I could be doing the same thing to get Ava to laugh - she'll just stare at me but will laugh her head off at Andrew! This isn't the best example, again it's only 10 seconds, but you'll get the idea.
