Chaz took Andrew and our new friends, Tim and Garrett, to see some harrier jets. Chaz was in charge of meeting a group of harrier jet pilots (marines) at the College Station airport before the Texas A&M football game. The jets flew over the stadium before the football game started.
We watched the Corps of Cadets 'march in' to the stadium before the football game. The university has a lot of traditions and the Corps of Cadets is a huge part of it. A cannon was fired from the 'quad' and then the Corps of Cadets band marches down the street and thousands (2000 in all) kids who are in the corps follow! Here's the beginning of the march in. Several people (like us) just come to watch the 'march in'. It's really neat!
The band was loud, but good! Ava, wincing at the loud music, clapped and loved the music!
There were a handful of tickets left over that the marine pilots didn't need for the game, so we went into the game with them. While they sat in the first row, we sat in the second row from the field! It was a lot of fun, but I couldn't help but think that it would have been A LOT more fun if we were at Ohio State. The seats were awesome and I'm sure there were so many more fans there that could have appreciated them a lot more than we did! Needless to say, I got my Texas A&M football fill for the next three years that we're here.
The kids shared a snow cone and corn dog at the game.
