Andrew had a Valentine's Day party at school today. We had a lot of fun going through all of his cards and treats when he got home.
Our activity this afternoon was making heart-shaped sugar cookies with icing. My secret is now out... we didn't make them from scratch, but from a bag!!
Everybody had a job... Ava put in the tablespoon of flour.
Both kids had a turn to use the mixer.. this was Ava's first time baking and as you can tell, she had a lot of fun!
Andrew used the rolling pin to roll the dough and both kids used the cookie cutters to make heart shaped cookies. Mommy baked them and we waited until after dinner to decorate them.
Ava climbed on the counter all by herself... no lie or surprise for that matter... of course the first thing I do is grab the camera!
This is what she was after!
Both kids got a cookie of their very own to decorate and eat.
Just a few more sprinkles....
Look Ma, no hands!
A big cookie mess!
We're all finished with our cookies and now we're going to share them with our neighborhood friends.
The kids waited until Daddy got home and until Nannie and Papa could skye to open their Valentine's Day care packages. Ava (with Bitty Baby on her back) showed Nannie and Papa every present that she opened!
Mommy and Daddy got presents too... Daddy wants a pair of 'real' cowboy boots and so Nannie thought it was only fitting that he have a 'real' leather belt and belt buckle to go with them, for his promotion present! Mommy was happy with all the chocolate and candies she got from chocolate shops back home. Thanks Nannie and Papa!
Superhero Andrew and Princess Ava (capes and all) had a great day and are ready to unwind with one of their new videos!
