Andrew has been having fun helping us open Ava's presents... he's even received some of his own (like this one from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Downing)
Grandma Rose visited last weekend
Picking strawberries... Ava came along too!
Andrew picking strawberries...
.... 'big one!'
Ava turned two weeks old on Friday and she is doing great! She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces at her doctor's visit and she's 20.5 inches long. She's gaining weight like she's supposed to - an ounce a day - even with all the spitting up she's doing! Andrew is adjusting to having a baby sister and having to share mom's time and attention. He likes to give Ava kisses and hold her from time to time. He does not understand 'gentle' and so we find ourselves on pins and needles when he's near the baby. I have a lot of adjusting to do as well... Ava's getting up 2-3 times at night, so I'm definitely lacking sleep and juggling the needs and wants of a 2 year old with those of a newborn can be challenging at times. We haven't been taking as many pictures lately and I need to work on taking more... not only for Ava's photo album but so I can keep everyone updated back home! I hope to find the time to update the blog once a week.
Dear Allison, Chaz, Andrew and Ava: what a beautiful family. Congratulations to all of you. I look at these pictures and wonder how the beautiful little girl we have known since she was 5 can possibly have accomplished all this in such a short time. Everybody looks so happy and healthy it warms our hearts. Ava is just beautiful! Andrew has gotten so big and grown up looking. Mr. McGraw and I look forward to your visit in June so we can meet Ava. Christina can't say enough about you guys! Maybe it will turn on her "mommy" instincts soon. Look for a little gift for your sweet girl in the mail this week.
ReplyDeleteLove to you all,
Mr. and Mrs. McGraw
